The First Tee of Tampa Bay

Officially formed in 1991 as Urban Junior Golf, The First Tee of Tampa Bay now provides tens of thousands of children each year with hands-on, interactive golf experiences long with introducing them to The First Tee’s Nine Core Values, Nine Healthy Habits and Life Skills Experience. A program branch of the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA, The First Tee of Tampa Bay also partners with community members such as the Tampa Sports Authority, youth agencies, schools and several golf courses throughout the Tampa area to offer year- round programming for its members.

The First Tee program uses the game of golf to provide young people with the chance to develop life-enhancing values like confidence, perseverance and judgment. The First Tee of Tampa Bay teaches a series of life skills and/or core values in all of its programs, including the National Schools Program, Group Golf Lessons, Golf Teams, Summer Golf Camps and more. The First Tee of Tampa Bay shows children that golf is more than a game – it’s an opportunity to become the very best they can be.
